百齡罈40年
非常讓我訝異的,走入空無一人的Marsalis Home X,一直到底方見2位高挑PG如門神般聳立兩旁迎接入內,一方小桌僅排列了5人座,而先我一步早到的K大正在拍照。保樂力加公司共出動了行銷總監、品牌經副理3位主管,加上公關公司的2位,陣仗出乎我預料的大,等Pernod Ricard的首席調酒師Sandy Hyslop到場,品酒會已相當快速的步調進行。
Sandy一開始先講解了Pernod Ricard的調酒師自有史以來僅僅5位,未來的第6位人選當然在持續訓練和培育中,而後開始依序聞香。桌上擺放的是百齡罈40年的重要基酒,包括Grain spirit、Grain 40yo、Glenburgie spirit、Glenburgie 40yo、Miltonduff 40yo、Logmorn 40yo以及最終成品Ballantines 40yo。基本上,new spirit就是new spirit,有誰(印霈的戈家黎?)說Glenburgie spirit有一種餿味,但我並未聞到。另一方面,穀物威士忌就是穀物威士忌,雖說罕見的陳放40年,但整體和印象裡的穀物威士忌差異不大,當然更溫醇一些。

Nose:酒精刺激,奶油、乳脂味濃,調合著大量的青草、麥芽、穀物,微酸的柑橘、檸檬和淡淡的蜂蜜甜,發酵酸味越來越多,10分鐘後轉變為較深沈的乾果甜,少許燒烤橡木桶、黑巧克力,油脂在20分鐘後逐漸散去,露出底層的木質,加上淺淺的蜂蜜甜倒是乾淨溫暖,可惜30分鐘後渙散 20
